Dear Hilmar Middle School families,

I would like to warmly welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. As principal, it is my honor to work with such a dedicated staff and community to provide an excellent educational experience for our students. We are committed to ensuring that your students receive the best academic and social emotional support to help them learn and grow.

Our vision at Hilmar Middle School is to provide students with an educational exposure that inspires and motivates them to be lifelong learners and productive citizens in their communities. Our goal is to provide a school culture that meets the needs of each student, both academically and socially. 

At HMS we have implemented multiple tiered support systems to effectively meet the needs of all students. We continue to use Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to create and maintain a safe and effective learning environment while ensuring that all students have the social skills needed to be successful at school and beyond. The purpose of PBIS is to establish a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm. We will continue to teach positive behavior just like academics and acknowledge students that exhibit our core values of being accountable, respectful, and empathetic.

ParentSquare will continue to be one of many tools used by both district and site administration, as well as classroom teachers, to communicate with families. Parents of HMS students can access this two way communication app via Google Play and I-Tunes or by going to their website at www.parentsquare.com to set up an account. For assistance in setting up an account, please contact the HMS office.
