Married with two children, Finley 16, and Brody, 13. I have three dogs Posey, Crawford, and Slater and three cats Ash, Esme, and Mittens. I am currently in my 18th year of teaching and enjoying every minute of it.  I have high expectations of myself as well as my colleagues and students.  My goal is to help create lifelong learners here at HMS and bring the fun.  I want my students to be proud of what they have achieved when they walk out of my door in June.  If they know that I expect no less than their best, they will accomplish this goal and be very proud of their achievements.  When we couple high expectations with our Hilmar Middle School Core Values of Accountability, Respect and Empathy, I know we will be successful.

Mrs. Silva - Library/Media Technician

Steve and I will be celebrating 44 years of marriage this October and are the proud parents of our daughter, Ally. I've worked in the HUSD for over 17 years which includes the years I spent as a substitute.

When I'm not working I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking, cardmaking, yoga, and baking. We have 2 dogs, Mike, and my granddog, Bruce. We also have a cat, O'Malley, who rules the house. As a family we enjoy acting at various Renaissance Faires, Pirate Festivals, and the Dicken's Faire. Our family is a football family and we're split three ways: "Da Bears", SF 49ers, and the LV Raiders. The person who has the worst win/loss record buys dinner for the other two.

Lunchtime in the library takes on a twist in being quiet. I've brought my love of cardmaking, games, and brainteaser puzzles to the library. Other than reading or doing homework, there's always something fun and different going on.
